Syscom-Prorep presents the new "NJL5830R" non-contact optical sensor from Nisshinbo Micro Devices Inc. This sensor comprises a high-power infrared LED, a photodiode sensor and signal processing circuitry, all in a package measuring 5.8×3.6×1.2mm. For use with gloves, the NJL5830R offers a 50mm range, high immunity to ambient light and interference prevention between adjacent sensors.Intended applications are devices that are to be used via buttons without physical contact, thus contributing to infection control and improved hygiene.Particularly as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, non-contact sensors have become much more popular for preventing contamination by bacteria or viruses through specific applications for public use.
